South Carolina has already seen progress with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA), specifically through S 0221 and HB 4030.

Rather than a ban, regulation ensures:

Product Purity: Protecting consumers from contaminated or adulterated products.

Age Restrictions: Ensuring these products are only available to adults 18 or 21 and older.

Labeling Standards: Requiring clear ingredient lists and usage guidelines.

Tax Revenue: Maintaining a legal, regulated market that contributes to the state economy.

A ban via HB 4641 would unfortunately create an unregulated underground market and penalize law-abiding citizens.
