- Dueling Proposals: Lawmakers introduced opposing measures in the General Assembly, including statutory ban bills (such as SB3160) to create a Kratom Prohibition Act and HB3129 to schedule mitragynine, alongside regulated Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) proposals like HB4737 and HB5242.
- No Statewide Ban Passed: The proposed prohibition measures failed to pass out of committee during the legislative session and were re-referred to Rules/Assignments. As a result, there is no statewide prohibition in effect.
